The problem
- ECC mainstream maintenance ends 31 December 2027. EHP 0–5 mainstream maintenance already ended in December 2025; EHP 6–8 customers are the ones facing the 2027 deadline now. Extended maintenance out to 2030 is available, but it costs an extra 2% annual licence fee — a standing tax on staying put. 95% of legacy users say building the migration business case is the hardest part (Freeform Dynamics / Rimini Street research) — and “RISE vs GROW,” clean core vs Selective Data Transition, and data-residency requirements make the decision harder.
